Course Description: Development of basic paint applications in various styles and subjects focusing on the formal elements of composition, light logic, and color.
Introduction to 2-D Design
Course Description: Introduction to the concepts, applications, and historical references related to two-dimensional art and composition, including the study of the basic principles and elements of line, shape, texture, value, color and spatial illusion. Development of a visual vocabulary for creative expression.
Beginning Drawing
Course Description: This course introduces students to the fundamentals of drawing in a variety of media. Coursework includes an exploration of design principles, systems of linear and atmospheric perspective, and observation and perception of 3-dimensional space. Emphasis is on black and white media. This course is designed to introduce and develop skill with a variety of drawing approaches.
