About Me

I am an artist and art educator currently pursuing my MFA in Studio Art at the San Francisco Art Institute. I received my MA in Art at Eastern Illinois University. I have taught Painting 1, Drawing 1, and Intro. to 2-D Design at several community colleges in the Greater Los Angeles area.

My artwork seeks to explore status-seeking and digital entertainment in contemporary American culture, particularly within the context of social networks and user-generated media. For example, through a series of self-reflexive portraits, my work discusses self-consciousness, narcissism, and depersonalization in the virtual world. Recently I have been exploring the formal possibilities of light boxes as an alternative support for gestural mark making.
